Regular replacement of mechanical seals is very expensive
What does ERIKS do with your seals?
Each seal brought in for repair is fully dismantled and ultrasonically cleaned, then thoroughly checked to make sure that repair is actually worthwhile. Close attention is also paid to the cause of leakage.
- If repair is possible the faces are lapped and polished to 1 to 2 light bands smoothness. After grinding the faces are checked for smoothness using monochromatic light and an optical flat glass. Our standard for this is 1 to 2 light bands.
New elastomers are fitted (e.g. O rings) and the springs, thrust washers and setscrews are replaced if necessary. Every irreparable part is replaced by a new ‘original’ part. Should these not be available, or at the specific request of the customer, we will also supply manufactured parts in conformance with the original.
The seals are packaged so that they cannot be damaged and are labelled in accordance with your requirements. On each occasion you will receive a specification sheet.
Other services available include shaft bushes and their renovation, plasma and high-speed deposition and the manufacture of precision spare parts. We work together with well-established companies for this. If samples or accurate technical drawings are provided we can issue a quotation within a few working days.
